The committee meets twice a year, in May and October, to develop and update documents relevant to quality emergency medical services. The committee, with a membership of approximately 100, has jurisdiction over 53 standards published in Volume 13.02 of the Annual Book of ASTM Standards. F30 promotes knowledge, stimulation of research, and the development of standards (classifications, guides, practices, specifications, test methods, and terminology) for quality emergency medical services. Standards for clinical medical practice are excluded. The work of F30 is coordinated with the activities of other EMS organizations having mutual interests such as The Association of Air Medical Services (AAMS).
